Feast Bound is a performative dining experience proposed for MONA. Through a dystopian lens, the design proposal investigates GMOS (Genetically Modified Organisms) — the direct process of manipulating DNA of an organism’s genes using biotechnology.
Set within a synthetic wheat field, 4 waiters are dressed in an apparatus that extends the capabilities of the human body through synthetic extensions. Suspended above the artificial landscape is the Source — an entity that contains the liquid concoction served to guests.
Dressed in the apparatus, the waiters lie underneath connected to the Source as the wearable fills with the concoction. Guests watch this process unfold as they anticipate their food preparation. Through choreography, the waiters separate from one another in approaching and inviting the guests to consume from the synthetic apparatus.
The host and guest, producer and consumer, artificial and natural, human and non-human intertwine to create a social feast bound.
